KATY KRANTZ

We are honored to have Katy Krantz take over Saffron this summer with Alchemy - selected works of ceramics and collage paintings.

Katy Krantz is a Brooklyn-based artist working primarily with the media of collage and ceramics. Chance and surprise play an important role in her work. Krantz has exhibited locally and internationally, showing her work at such venues as the Oakland Museum and the City Museum of Cuernavaca in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Closer to home, she has shown at Metaphor Contemporary Art and the A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn. In 2008, she was selected to be a Pollock-Krasner Fellow at the Woodstock-Byrdcliffe Artist’s Colony. Krantz earned her BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1998 and her MFA from Hunter College in 2007. She currently teaches in the Parsons SPACE program.

YASUSHI SUZUKI

Yasushi was the assistant designer to legend Issey Miyake in the 70's & longtime textile designer to Ellen Tracy in new york. This month we will feature his personal work of graphite & watercolor. Rare to see and beautifully rendered.

Matsu worked as an assistant to matthew barney, and continues to show and perform in brooklyn. Please read his bio here & check out the work in the store. I am a personal fan of Matsu's work, and cannot be more honored to have his work debut for us.
